“Sorry about the lateness of my review!”
In Dec 2007 my girlfriend and I stayed at the Ambala Lodge during our 8 month around the world holiday. The Cook Islands was our favourite place we stayed by a long way. This is obviously partly due to the amazing location but the fantastic accommodation and the friendliness/helpfulness of Esa and Nancy made it a week we will never forget. From the beginning through to the end I have never felt more comfortable and welcome in any B+B or hotel. There was a snorkelling site near to the hotel recommended by Esa that we decided to nick name 'The Aquarium' based on the huge numbers and varieties of fish hiding amongst the reef. The room was like having our own apartment, the gardens were beautiful and the resident kitten made our day when we saw it in the morning. Its important to note that we only saw the kitten because we wanted to just in case this put anybody off-i can't see why it would though. Despite the fact that flights are expensive and there are so many other places to we would like to explore we will definitely be returning to the Cook Islands and hope to stay at Ambala Lodge again. I have recommended Ambala Lodge to all family/friends and now recommend it to one and all. Seriously – stay here and you will have a holiday of lifetime!

“Tropical Paradise Found”
I recently spent a week at the Ambala Garden Lodge in the Cook Islands and my time in the Cook's was made all the more memorable by the hosts (Nancy & Esa) of Ambala Gardens and the postcard like setting of their bed and breakfast. There is clearly something special about sitting on their balcony overlooking the ocean while enjoying a margarita made from fresh tropical fruit picked from the fruit trees growing on their property. Combine that with knowledge and company of Esa/Nancy and their other guests and, well it just doesn't get much better.

In a word, amazing! We have stayed on several islands
during our trip and this has been our favorite by a long
way. The suite is perfect with everything clean and
extremely comfortable. The icing on the cake is the
friendly, knowledgeable hosts. Thank you so much
Esa and Nancy for a highly memorable week.

Thank you for your hospitality and for making sure that our family was comfortable during our stay.
Ambala is famous for their breadfruit chips and dip.
Thank you very much for the wonderful place. It was so nice especially the pool and thank you for making us feel welcome.
Loved the place and the owners. Definitely will be back. Teens will love as it creates personal and family space.
Thank you so much. Our family has enjoyed staying here. Esa and Nancy have been very accommodating to our teenage children.

We arrived as guests but are leaving as friends. Thank you for a truly fabulous stay (but next time perhaps you could have a word with the man upstairs about the weather).

How did we ever come to have such luck, such great fortune to be Nancy and Esa’s guests in this gorgeous setting in paradise. Now if you are a guest reading this, watch out beware, Nancy’s breakfasts are absolutely amazing and you may not need to eat until its dinner time. We have travelled the world over and have never enjoyed hosts so much as we have Esa and Nancy Aatelma. Be well, be safe.

What can I say. My husband and I enjoy travelling all parts of the globe. We usually stay in boutique hotels which in our opinion are far superior in terms of accommodation and ambiance. This is certainly true for Ambala Garden Lodge who have done 100% plus to make our first stay in Rarotonga so wonderful. Thank you Esa and Nancy for making us so welcome.

Thank you for such a lovely stay at the Ambala Lodge and
your kind hospitality. It has made being away from home
for Christmas a lot easier. We are truly grateful for
such a memorable few days. Would love to come back and
visit again one day.
Best wishes for the New Year.

We
checked in for 2 nights and stayed for 6. Loved Ambala
Garden Lodge. Hope to come back some time. Esa
and Nancy were fantastic hosts and we couldn’t wish for
a better place to stay on Rarotonga. See you next time.

What a wonderful restful place. Thank
you for your kind hospitality. I enjoyed our long chats
in the mornings and evenings, and of course the food – including
from the barbeque. I look forward to staying here
again next time.
